Unique Manthey Porsche Cayman GT4 RS

This is a unique Porsche Cayman GT4 RS with the Manthey kit, which has been nicknamed “The Tulip” due to its orange specs.

According to Carscoops, it is a creation that was taken care of by Porsche Netherlands, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, Porsche Sonderwunsch and Manthey Racing.

The exterior is in Pastel Orange, and the same color is applied, among other things, to the intakes on the black carbon fiber hood, as well as the Porsche lettering on the rear spoiler. Other details include logos on the front fenders and a thin strip of the Dutch flag on the rear wing next to the Manthey Racing logo.

The 20-inch forged magnesium wheels are finished in Satin Black, while the rear wheels are covered in carbon aero discs.

As for the engine, the 4.0L six-cylinder engine produces 368 kW/500 hp and is combined with a sharper chassis tuning. In addition, the model is equipped with the optional Weissach package and the Manthey kit, which make it even more capable on the track.

Core to the Manthey kit is a set of aero upgrades that run nose to tail starting with new intake flaps and air curtains that include wheel arch Gurney flaps. There’s also a new carbonfibre underfloor with new diffusers that combine to increase front end downforce. 

The kit, which is available as an aftermarket fitment from Porsche centres consists of front to rear aero upgrades, a chassis overhaul and a further option to upgrade the braking system.

The interior features a tulip-shaped logo, which is featured on the illuminated door sills and the headrests of the sports seats. The latter are covered in black leather and Race-Tex material, contrasting with Pastel Orange details. Porsche is also offering a personalized car key and case, as well as a special edition Chronograph 718 Cayman GT4 RS – all with Pastel Orange paint and an elegant logo.

At the rear is an even larger four-stage adjustable rear wing, 85mm wider in fact, which also includes new endplates to combine to boost downforce across the rear axle, which amounts to an increase to 169kg from 89kg when the rear wing is set to track mode and the car is travelling at 120mph. Aero discs manufactured from carbon reinforced plastic (CFPR) on the rear wheels clean up the airflow, reducing turbulence. 

Chassis upgrades are equally comprehensive, with adjustable coilovers fitted at each corner featuring four-way adjustable struts that allow configurable rebound and compression rates. The front springs are, as a result, 20 percent stiffer. 

The Manthey package adds more aggressive carbon fiber aero components such as a larger rear wing. The car laps the Nürburgring in 7:03.121 minutes, which is over 6 seconds faster than the standard GT4 RS.

The special 718 Cayman GT4 RS will be on display at the Zandvort circuit during the Dutch Grand Prix weekend from August 29 to 31. It is not clear whether the model will remain with the Dutch importer or whether a local buyer will acquire it at a high price.
