Alpine A390

At last year's Paris Motor Show, the Alpine brand held a promotion of the A390_β concept, which announced the future electric "sports fastback" model. After numerous announcements, the serial A390 finally appeared today.

The A390 thus became the second fully electric model of the French manufacturer, in addition to the smaller A290.

The A390 has undergone numerous tests in recent months, the goal of which was to achieve the level of performance and agility expected of an Alpine model. Special attention was paid to dynamic performance, which is essential for the development of any Alpine vehicle.

Alpine A390

This primarily refers to the system with three electric motors, all-wheel drive (from 20 or 21 inches), but also the 5 driving modes of the A390, including the new "Track Mode", or Alpine Active Torque Vectoring.

All this in combination with a sports suspension revised by the Alpine technical team to ensure driving dynamics worthy of the name it bears.

Thanks to its dual role as a sporty and authentic 5-seater (length 4615 mm, height 1532 mm, width 1885 mm, wheelbase 2708 mm, boot 532 liters), but also to its top-notch performance and technologies, the Alpine A390 will benefit from a unique positioning in the current automotive market.

Designed to convey emotion, the A390 is intended for everyday use, but is capable of transforming into a true sports car.

With the A390, the brand seeks to expand its presence on the market with a larger vehicle, capable of combining a sporty spirit with the versatility of a five-seater model. This evolution represents a strategic move for Alpine, which aims to attract a wider audience without losing its essence.

The launch of this model takes place in a special context: the celebration of Alpine’s 70th anniversary, which will take place in Dieppe from May 30 to June 1, 2025. The choice of location is not accidental, as Dieppe is not only the birthplace of the brand, but also the future production site.

Electrification is inevitable, and Alpine is seeking to position itself as a benchmark in this niche by combining design, performance and technology.

Along with other new models, the A390 could be offered globally, as Alpine has announced plans to enter Asia, as well as the US.

Alpine states that the new model “combines the brand’s competitive know-how and the group’s experience in electric vehicles, with all the sports car excellence that defines the Alpine brand”.

Inside, the Alpine A390 boasts higher-quality materials and a sportier ambience compared to the Renault, justifying its premium positioning while paying homage to the brand’s rally heritage.

The 12.3-inch instrument panel behind the steering wheel and the 12-inch vertical infotainment screen facing the driver contribute to the unique atmosphere with their graphics, interfaces and features.

When passengers enter the Alpine A390, they are greeted by a visual and audio welcome sequence. The atmospheric ambience is created by an impressive sound thanks to the Devialet audio system, while the animation with the Alpine logo ends with a metallic flash.

The name A390 follows Alpine’s nomenclature, which combines the letter A followed by three numbers. The number 3 refers to the size of the vehicle, and the 90 to the brand’s multi-purpose, everyday vehicles.

Electric motors with 295 kW/400 hp or 345 kW/470 hp, depending on the model variant, provide propulsion. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in the more powerful version takes 3.9 seconds, while the top speed is 220 km/h. The weaker variant reaches 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h.

The 89 kWh battery is sufficient for a range of up to 555 kilometers, and charging is carried out at up to 190 kW.
