DE TOMASO

De Tomaso P72

After the last failed attempt to revive De Tomaso (the Deauville concept was shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2011), the Italian brand has been preparing for a new comeback for some time.

The first novelty was the super sports model called the P72 shown at the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, which will finally start deliveries later this year.

The P72 offers numerous personalization options. You can choose between heritage-inspired colors, an exterior with exposed carbon fiber, or a variety of hand-stitched leather surfaces and machined metal finishes in the cabin.

The example in the pictures has a white exterior with copper accents and matching copper wheels. The interior is a combination of cream leather, copper details and carbon fiber.

The P72 will be powered by a mid-mounted 5.0-liter Ford V8 engine with a supercharger that has 700 hp and 820 Nm.

Power is sent to the rear wheels exclusively via a six-speed manual transmission.

The P72 is inspired by the 1960s P70 racing car (developed in collaboration with Carroll Shelby), and uses a carbon fiber chassis.

De Tomaso previously announced a limited production run of 72 units for the P72, with a price tag of around €1.6 million each.
