Toyota Supra becomes BMW Z4 Roadster

The return of the name “Supra” to Toyota’s catalog was very well received, but not by everyone. The fact that underneath was a BMW Z4 made many people critical. Even so, the result was a distinctive coupe that was very interesting to drive.

Now, in Japan, someone decided to experiment with how some parts from the two models could fit together.

And the result is there for all to see. This is the (only) Toyota Z4 Roadster… or is it a BMW Supra Roadster?

At the base, there is still — literally — a BMW Z4 Roadster, but the entire front section has been replaced by that of the Toyota Supra coupe.

The huge hood, the headlights, the bumpers and the fenders are from the Toyota Supra, but everything else remained unchanged.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any pictures of the transformation process, but we believe it’s not something simple enough to do in the garage. After all, the style of the two models is quite different.

Still, the result is surprisingly (very) appealing and even leaves us wondering whether Toyota missed an excellent opportunity to produce a Supra Roadster.
