Škoda Elroq Respectline - A colourful celebration of diversity

The Škoda Elroq Respectline – a car that embodies Škoda’s core values and deep respect for human diversity, while showcasing a range of unique and inspiring design solutions.

The Elroq Respectline is based on the sporty version of the compact electric vehicle Elroq Sportline and immediately attracts attention with its rainbow-coloured exterior. “The world is full of colours – whether we are talking about literal shades or metaphorically about different opinions and perspectives. This is exactly what the Elroq Respectline shows – the diversity and difference of human beings,” says the author of the exterior design, Danijel Petr.

The Elroq Respectline follows on from the first Respectline model from 2023, which was based on the electric Enyaq Coupe and expressed the values of equality and respect in all areas of life. Its successor comes with a similarly clear message. “Everyone is valuable just the way they are – and they should be proud of it. The Elroq Respectline is a symbol of diversity and mutual respect – not only among people but also towards the world around us, be it nature or different attitudes,” explains project coordinator Petr Kavrencis.

The colorful exterior design was part of the concept from the very beginning. After several iterations, the team settled on a rainbow base that symbolizes the beauty of individuality that flows into an overall harmony. While most of the bodywork features a mix of colors, the front remains monochromatic to highlight the unique illuminated grille element.

For the Respectline, the design team treated the grille as a canvas to express the vehicle’s core message and brought it to life with something completely new. Instead of standard lighting, the Elroq Respectline features an animated full-color palette.

This solution, known as the Spectrum Light Band, posed a number of technical challenges, such as how to provide a full spectrum of colors with smooth transitions. Exterior lighting designer Petr Nevrela reveals that the light show is powered by 274 LED sources: 142 in the central strip and 66 in each headlight.

The interior is also getting its own bold makeover. The rainbow theme is featured on the dashboard and door trim.

Over the coming months, the Elroq Respectline will represent the Škoda brand at various cultural and social events, for example, at the Prague Metronome music festival, the Prague Philharmonic open-air concert, as well as at the Prague Pride festival or during the Tour de France.
