RENAULT

Renault Espace facelift

Renault Espace 2025: seven-seater French SUV brings new looks and more equipment

Launched in 2023, the Renault Espace has been updated to match the French brand's latest design language. With a renewed design and a new lighting signature, the new Espace will also have changes inside.

The Espace now features the Solarbay roof, the largest available from Renault - almost 2 square meters. In addition, there are also new seats, new upholstery and better soundproofing.

In terms of engine, Renault has not changed anything. The French family car, which can be purchased with seven seats, is not rechargeable (plug-in) and is equipped with a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, with 130 hp of power and 205 Nm of torque. Coupled to this block are two small electric motors powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2 kWh. The first electric motor, with 50 hp, is responsible for the Espace's 100% electric driving, while the second, with 25 hp, is responsible for starting the combustion engine and changing gears.

The main aesthetic changes are at the front, with a new set of headlights (whose design is in line with other Renault proposals), a grille with filaments that can be painted grey or black, and also a redesigned bumper. At the rear, the main novelty is the redesigned taillights. In terms of equipment, the new camera inside the right-hand pillar on the left-hand side stands out, which recognises the driver and activates a specific preference profile that affects the sound system, seat position and the position of the exterior rear-view mirrors, in addition to the set of Google applications displayed in the infotainment system. Another function of this camera is to detect driver fatigue and recommend a break.

Also noteworthy is the panoramic glass roof (Solarbay, 1.70 metres long and 1.13 metres wide), whose opacity level can be adjusted using a button or voice commands. On the dashboard, there is a new button called My Safety Switch that allows you to adjust the operation or switch off five driving assistance devices at once. It is also worth noting changes to the front seats, which benefit from greater lateral support, and to the upholstery. In the Techno level, 98% of the upholstery is recycled. The interior also has better sound insulation, thanks to the use of laminated glass and more watertight door seals. The boot has a capacity of 520 litres with five seats or 212 litres with seven, and the second row can slide 22 cm on a rail.

For now, there is only one engine available: the E-Tech Full Hybrid, which combines a 1.2 three-cylinder turbocharged 130 hp petrol engine and two electric motors (with 70 and 25 hp) for a combined power of 200 hp, working in association with an automatic gearbox. It claims a theoretical range of up to 1,188 km. There is the option of a 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering system.

The battery is automatically recharged with regenerative braking, and the driver can choose between four different levels of regeneration. According to Renault, the Espace can achieve a combined average of 4.8 litres for every 100 km travelled. Scheduled for launch before the summer, the Espace will be available in three trim levels: Techno, Esprit Alpine and Iconic.
