Dacia Spring 2027: new generation of the model will arrive in Europe costing 18,000 euros

A new render shows how the new generation of Dacia Spring, scheduled for 2027, could change.

Dacia is working on several new features that will arrive in the coming years. Its range will be completely renewed, but all eyes are on the new generation of Spring, scheduled for 2027. According to L’Argus, the project had a significant acceleration last summer. It was then made official between the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, to finally be publicly announced on February 20 by Luca De Meo, CEO of the Renault Group.

The Renault Group aims to reduce the overall emissions of its fleet. In addition to the efforts required of the R4 and R5 models, Dacia will also contribute with four new electric vehicles between 2026 and 2028. The new Spring will be technically related to the future electric Twingo, but will be developed in just 16 months under the stylistic direction of David Durand.

The first sketch released by Denis Le Vot suggests a distinctive design, not a simple clone of the Twingo. However, some observers have noticed similarities with the new Fiat Grande Panda. From an aesthetic point of view, the new Spring will be inspired by the Duster, although in a “reduced” format, with a length of 3.70 meters (slightly shorter than the Twingo which will measure 3.75 meters). It will have a flat bonnet, unlike the more curved one of the Twingo, a high belt line and a more robust and massive overall appearance.

The price will start at less than 18,000 euros, in line with the current generation and around 2,000 euros less than the Twingo, despite sharing the same technical base. To differentiate the two models, the Spring could have fewer ADAS systems or a battery with a shorter range.

While the 2026 Twingo is expected to offer around 300 km of autonomy, the Spring 2027 could stop at around 250 km, similar to the future Volkswagen ID.1. The vehicle will be developed following the new Leap 100 standard, which foresees the design in just 100 weeks.
