'The Beard' Metamorphoses a Maserati MC20...to Match His New Sneakers

The usual thing for the average person obsessed with their image is to look for sneakers that match the color of their car, but NBA stars are anything but ordinary. And we just saw a new example with Clippers guard James Harden (better known as 'The Beard').

The Californian just debuted his new Adidas sneakers, the Harden Vol 9 Metamorphosis, which boast a 'cybermetallic' silhouette and are certainly spectacular. Especially in the color chosen for his social media campaign, Semi Court Green.

On the Harden 9, the usual three Adidas stripes are transformed into three waves that, according to the brand, emulate the Los Angeles star's fluid movements. The design is described as "bold and groundbreaking," as is the promotional accessory accompanying the launch...

An MC20 to match the Harden 9...Because in the initial campaign, the style of the sneakers has been mimicked... by an Italian sports car. None other than a Maserati MC20, which has been given the same color as the sneakers and, incidentally, is decorated on the side with the same waves as the boots.

A customization of the car down to the smallest detail is essential, so the V8 inscription on Harden's MC20, referring to its 630-horsepower turbocharged eight-cylinder engine, is replaced with a V9, which refers to the sneaker's edition (and which has been used by fans to joke about a previously unreleased engine architecture).

By the way, and in case you're curious, Harden's sneakers are priced at 160 euros... and are available in Spain in that color. They are nowhere near as expensive as the 265,000 euros that the Italian sports car costs.
