Former SsangYong, now bought by the KGM or KG Mobility group, launches new line of electrified pickup trucks
Remember SsangYong? Well, the ill-fated South Korean brand, which for many years sold its products in Brazil, is still alive in Asia, but not as it used to be.
Bought by the KGM or KG Mobility group, SsangYong even lost its name on the models, which were rescued by the new owner of the brand, which had existed in South Korea since 1954.

With a new lineup, KGM has the Torres as its main product, a mid-size SUV inherited from the Actyon and Kyron, which also spawned a double pickup truck, the KGM Musso.
It uses the name of SsangYong's first internationally known SUV and now presents a 100% electric propulsion version.
Now available on the Russian market, the KGM Musso EV comes with a 207-horsepower front electric motor and an 80.6 kWh lithium battery from BYD. However, given its design, it will probably have a range of around 400 km, which wouldn't be bad for a mid-size double-cab pickup truck. Weighing 2,155 kg, the South Korean electric pickup truck has alloy wheels and special 245/60 R17 tires.
The initial version has front-wheel drive, but the KGM Musso EV will also have a four-wheel drive option with a second electric motor, supposedly. With associations based on “strength, grandeur and confidence”, the KGM Musso EV comes with a modern look and stylish details to attract attention. With an integrated cargo bed, the KGM Musso EV may also have a rear hood to increase the protection of the cargo in the cargo bed. It also has full LED headlights and taillights, as well as sporty and cool aesthetic details, with a huge roof rack standing out.
Inside, it has a digital cluster and integrated multimedia, following its sibling Torres, from which it derives. Price? In South Korea, it starts at 48 million won.
