Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition
A legendary Baja 1000-winning name returns to the Ford family with the new Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition. This model is the successor to the original Bronco Stroppe Baja from the 1960s and 1970s. This limited edition combines the original spirit of desert racing with modern off-road capability to create a high-performance SUV.
What does this Ford Bronco Stroppe Special Edition look like and why is it so special? “When you bought a Stroppe Baja Bronco in 1971, it left Bill Stroppe’s factory ready to race in the Baja 1000,” said Jason Hyde, Bronco brand manager. “That capability was key in developing the new Bronco Stroppe Special Edition.”
This model features Fox Internal Bypass shocks designed for improved high-speed performance, a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and Baja G.O.A.T. The Bronco Stroppe Special Edition is available only as a two-door and replaces the Wildtrak model. It also includes a detachable stabilizer bar, HOSS 3.0 off-road suspension and alloy wheels with Goodyear Territory RT tires.
The 2025 Bronco Stroppe features a modern design that pays homage to the original Calypso Coral, Wimbledon White and Astra Blue colors. Colors include Oxford White and Code Orange, with a hardtop painted in Atlas Blue. A matte hood reduces sun glare when driving at high speeds in the desert.
The interior features a white center stack with Code Orange accents, a ‘Bronco’ logo on the dash and contrasting stitching. The center console also features a distinctive edition plaque.
Bill Stroppe is a renowned off-road vehicle builder, much admired for his work on the Ford Bronco. He was able to transform the model into a vehicle suitable for competing in the Baja 1000. In 1969, a Bronco prepared by Stroppe achieved the only outright victory by a 4x4 in this race.
