Absolute rarity: 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 V8 5-Speed

This 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 was refinished in orange over black leather and fitted with a 4.0-liter 1UZ-FE V8 in Pakistan in 2023 before it was imported to the US in February 2024 and acquired by the current owner later that year. The independent front suspension from a Prado model was also installed along with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case, and additional features include a removable hardtop with a black roof as well as LED headlights, 16″ AD Offroad Performance AD-V4 wheels, aftermarket front bucket seats, inward-facing rear bench seats, air conditioning, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo. This FJ40 is offered on dealer consignment in Nevada with a clean Montana title.

The truck was repainted orange during the refurbishment and features a removable hardtop with a black roof as well as an aftermarket grille, LED headlights, driving lights, rear ambulance-style doors, and a pintle hitch.

Black 16″ AD Offroad Performance AD-V4 wheels feature orange lips and XD center caps, and they are mounted with 265/75 Toyo Open Country A/T tires. A spare is affixed to a swing-away rear carrier. The truck is equipped with power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, and the selling dealer states that the independent front suspension from a Prado model was fitted.

The right-hand-drive cabin was refreshed during the build and fitted with aftermarket front bucket seats and inward-facing rear bench seats trimmed in black leather. Appointments include air conditioning, aftermarket speakers, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-km/h speedometer, a digital voltage gauge, and instruments for oil pressure, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 27k kilometers (~17k miles), approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.

A 4.0-liter 1UZ-FE V8 was installed during the build and features a cold air intake.

Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
