DAKAR 2025

Mitchel van den Brink wins 6th stage of the Dakar and closes in on Macík in the trucks

Leader of the trucks class in the Dakar, Martin Macík finished the sixth special stage in second place, 7 minutes behind his main rival. Ales Loprais finished fifth and saw the leaders distance themselves in the overall standings

Dutchman Mitchel van den Brink(in the images), alongside Moises Torrallardona and Jarno Van de Pol, managed to break Martin Macík's streak of two consecutive victories and won the sixth special stage of the Dakar in 2025. The battle between the two main contenders for the title was fierce throughout the entire route between Ha'il and Al Duwadimi.

The Eurol Rally driver completed the stage in 5h17min19s, guaranteeing an advantage of exactly 7 minutes over his MM Technology rival when he crossed the finish line. Martin Šoltys finished third, 29min07s behind the leader. Martin van den Brink and Ales Loprais completed the top five.

Kees Koolen finished sixth, 37min20s behind Mitchel. In a more distant group, Teruhito Sugawara, Richard De Groot, Anja Van Loon and William De Groot rounded out the top 10 — all between 1h and 1h30min behind the leaders.

With the result, Mitchel van den Brink achieved a total time of 38h24min41s and reduced Macík's lead to 1h49min33s. After being second in the class, Loprais dropped and now has a time of 39h16min21s, 2h41min13s behind his rival from MM Technology, in third.

With minimal chances of turning things around, Šoltys appears in fourth, 4h01min10s behind. Martin van den Brink and Koolen complete the top six positions, while Sugawara, almost 6 hours behind, remains in seventh. Richard de Groot, Vaidotas Zala and Van Loon complete the first page of the table.

The Dakar remains in Al Duwadimi for the seventh stage, this Sunday (12). The competitors will face a timed section of 419 km, in addition to another 297 km of travel.
