DAKAR 2025

Loprais beats Zala and wins the 7th stage of the Dakar in trucks. Macík finishes in 3rd place

After a result below expectations in the sixth special stage, Ales Loprais(in the images) won again in the Dakar. Leader in the overall standings, Martin Macík finished in third place and extended his advantage over his rivals.

On a shortened route due to some safety measures taken by the Dakar last Saturday (11), Ales Loprais, alongside David Kripal and Darek Rodewald, managed to recover after a result below expectations in the sixth special stage and won the seventh stage of the Dakar, held this Sunday, in Al Duwadimi.

The Instatrade driver completed the route in 4h33min31s, crossing the finish line with a comfortable margin of 9min34s over Vaidotas Zala, from the Skuba team. Leader of the truck class, Martin Macík accumulated a total time of 4h43min57s and finished the day in third place, 10min26s behind the leader.

Kees Koolen, a teammate in the #600 at MM Technology, took the final checkered flag after 4h57min57s and finished in fourth place, ahead of Mitchel van den Brink, second in the overall standings and fifth in the seventh special stage, with a total time of 5h02min26s — 28min55s behind Loprais.

The Dutchman Maurik van den Heuvel, in turn, was the one who led the rest of the line and ended the day in sixth place, with a time of 5h07min45s. William De Groot, Anja Van Loon, Teruhito Sugawara and Martin Šoltys, who clocked 5h26min42s, rounded out the top 10. With today's results, Macík managed to extend his lead in the truck class. With a total time of 41h19min05s on the clock, the MM driver is 2h08min02s ahead of Mitchel van den Brink (43h27min07s), who is in second place. Loprais (43h49min52s) remains in third place, while Šoltys (46h03min) and Koolen (46h16min51s) round out the top five.

The Dakar leaves Al Duwadimi this Monday (13), heading towards Riyadh. The competitors will face a timed stretch of 483 km, in addition to another 250 km of travel.
