Pecco Bagnaia se ha impuesto a Jorge Martín en la carrera de Malasia

Pecco Bagnaia beats Jorge Martín and sends the outcome of MotoGP 2024 to the final round

Pecco Bagnaia beats Jorge Martín to send MotoGP 2024 title to final roundItalian Pecco Bagnaia has become the sixth rider in the history of the premier class to reach ten victories in a season after winning the Malaysian Grand Prix ahead of Spaniard Jorge Martín, with Italian Enea Bastianini completing the podium.

A victory that means that the 2024 MotoGP title will be decided at the final round (which, pending official confirmation, will be in Barcelona), where Martín will arrive with a 24-point advantage over Bagnaia, so it will be up to him to be champion in Saturday's Sprint.

Jorge Martín and Pecco Bagnaia were paired together at the start and the Italian braked very late to get ahead, but it all came to nothing when a red flag came out due to a multiple accident involving Fabio Quartararo, Brad Binder and Jack Miller, who was treated on track and left in an ambulance. Luckily, after a few minutes of anguish, the Australian was seen walking around the paddock.

Without Miller or Brad Binder - who entered the pits after the new reconnaissance lap - the race restarted at 19 laps and Pecco Bagnaia made a fantastic start to take the lead from Jorge Martín, with Marc Márquez behind them. Martín launched an attack after a few corners, but did not consolidate the overtaking and Bagnaia regained control.

Martín never tired of trying and Bagnaia always responded immediately, leaving three absolutely legendary first laps with Marc Márquez as the only spectator, since despite the fight a gap opened up between the three of them and Franco Morbidelli, behind whom were Enea Bastianini and Álex Márquez. After the six Ducatis, Pedro Acosta overtook Fabio Quartararo. Further behind Joan Mir fell.
