TOYOTA HILUX CHAMP TORNA-SE UM MOTORHOME COMPLETO PARA SEIS PESSOAS

This Toyota Hilux Champ is a cozy apartment

The Toyota Hilux Champ is a versatile pick-up truck that, unfortunately, we won't see here. It was launched in Thailand for the regional markets, which is a shame, since it is a very interesting proposition. Designed by the company Carryboy, it offers a bathroom, kitchen, dining room and space for no less than six people in just over five meters.

Initially announced with the launch of the model, it is already on sale. Specifically, it is based on the chassis-cab version of the Hilux Champ in a long body, that is, 5.3 meters long. Since it is an aggregate module, the company emphasizes that it is also compatible with other pick-ups on the market, such as the conventional Hilux itself.

To accommodate the six passengers, Carryboy has organized the interior in a very clever way. At the front, we find a living room with sofas that transform into a bed. At the top, there is an additional sleeping area with a large window. If we move to the opposite end, we find a small shower with a toilet and sink.

The equipment includes a sliding kitchen (optional), a 100-liter fresh water tank, a dining table, LED lighting, a large number of storage compartments, blinds, an 80-liter refrigerator, kitchen utensils, a sink, an electric awning and ladders, a 32-inch television and air conditioning.

To power the equipment, it has a standard 9,600 Wh battery. Optionally, it can be expanded to 19,200 Wh or 28,800 Wh, complemented by a sunroof. The Carryboy also offers the option of improving the suspension with new shock absorbers, increasing ground clearance. If the customer wants something cheaper, they can opt for the Touring Package, which is simpler and has less equipment.

In the Toyota Hilux Champ we can find three mechanics. The offer starts with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine (1TR-FE) with 139 hp and 183 Nm of maximum torque. It is followed by a 2.7-litre petrol engine (2TR-FE) with 166 hp and 245 Nm of torque. The top of the range is a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine (2GD-FTV) with 150 hp and 343 Nm of torque.

The latter is the engine that powers the motorhome and allows it to have a load capacity equivalent to that of the 1-tonne Hilux. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter. In all cases, the power is transmitted to the rear axle.
