ESTE É O NOVO BMW M5 TOURING COM TODOS OS DETALHES

THE NEW BMW M5 TOURING

BMW M GmbH continues to expand its range in the high-performance segment and at the same time advances the electrification of its model range. The new BMW M5 Touring combines exceptional dynamics on the road and on the racetrack with a versatile interior space for everyday use, leisure activities and travel. This is the third BMW M to be equipped with the M HYBRID system, in which a high-revving V8 engine is driven by an electric motor with extremely fast power delivery. Together, the engine and drivetrain generate a maximum output of 727 hp and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm.

The vehicle and driving concept of the new BMW M5 Touring is based on an exceptionally versatile driving experience. It is capable of covering long distances, offering exceptional performance on the racetrack and driving on electric power alone in urban areas. Power is transferred via the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission, the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, the active M differential and the M-specific chassis technology, which are precisely tuned to the M HYBRID drive system. The new BMW M5 Touring accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

The new BMW M5 Touring will make its world premiere at Monterey Car Week in California, USA, in August 2024. The market launch is scheduled for November 2024, following the start of production at the BMW Group plant in Dingolfing. The main sales regions are North America and Europe.

Exterior design: athletic shapes with typical Touring proportions...With a new interpretation of the characteristic M design for high-performance automobiles, the new BMW M5 Touring clearly expresses its racing-inspired character. A particularly high proportion of surfaces painted in body colour and a solid black finish for the roof result in a very athletic design over the familiar proportions of a Touring model. The side design is characterised by flared wheel arches that combine with muscular shoulders and an elongated roofline, clearly differentiating it from the new BMW 5 Series Touring.

The sculptural front end is dominated by large air intakes and a redesigned kidney grille, the contour of which is illuminated by the standard BMW Iconic Glow. At the rear of the car, the elegant tail lights extending along the sides, together with the vertical reflectors positioned at the rear and a two-section diffuser with two pairs of integrated tailpipes on the left and right, give the new BMW M5 Touring width and a powerful stature. M HYBRID drive system in the new BMW M5 Touring: intoxicating performance and impressive electric range... The M HYBRID drive system in the new BMW M5 Touring combines a 4.4-litre V8 engine known for its high-revving character with an electric motor whose performance characteristics have been specifically tuned for the BMW M5 and which is integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission. The combustion engine benefits from the latest M TwinPower Turbo technology, a cross-bank exhaust manifold and optimised oil separation. It develops a maximum output of 585 hp and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. The maximum output of the electric motor is 145 kW/197 hp, with a nominal torque of 280 Nm, which can be increased to 450 Nm at the transmission input via a pre-gear stage. The combination of combustion engine and electric motor follows the same principle as the drive system in the BMW M Hybrid V8 endurance racing car. The electric motor’s ability to generate power instantly, together with the intelligently controlled interaction between the combustion engine and the electric motor, ensures that the M HYBRID system responds without delay to every accelerator pedal movement. The linear power delivery characteristic of BMW M models is particularly convincing here.

The 8-cylinder engine can rev up to 7,200 rpm, giving the driver of the new BMW M5 Touring the feeling of relentless power development at high load levels and speeds. Top speed is limited to 250 km/h, but can be increased to 305 km/h by choosing the optional M Driver’s Package.

The sports exhaust system of the new BMW M5 Touring enhances the performance experience with a multifaceted and emotionally captivating sound. The BMW IconicSounds Electric system acoustically accompanies the power delivery of the electric motor, providing authentic responses to accelerator movements when the car is in all-electric mode. With the proper propulsion system setup, it also generates an appealing soundtrack to highlight the arrival of additional electric power in addition to the output of the V8 engine.

In all-electric mode, the new BMW M5 Touring can reach speeds of up to 140 km/h. The high-voltage battery located in the underbody of the car has 18.6 kWh of usable energy, enabling an electric range of 61 to 67 kilometres in the WLTP cycle. The combined charging unit of the new BMW M5 Touring enables charging with alternating current at up to 11 kW.

The power generated by the combustion engine and electric motor is transmitted to the road via the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, the setting of which is particularly accentuated in 4WD Sport mode. However, the driver can also select 2WD mode, which sends drive exclusively to the rear wheels with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) switched off, appealing to experienced drivers who prefer a pure performance experience. This enhanced version of M xDrive, as well as the electronically controlled M active differential on the rear axle, is specially adapted to the performance characteristics of the M HYBRID drive system.

Exceptional dynamism thanks to sophisticated chassis technology with M-specific tuning...The chassis design of the new BMW M5 Touring comprises a double-wishbone front axle and a five-wishbone rear axle with tailored kinematics and elastokinematics, as well as other specially tuned components. The electrically assisted rack and pinion steering with M Servotronic and variable steering ratio has a rigid connection to the front axle subframe to ensure optimum road response and a high degree of steering precision. Together with the wide track and excellent torsional rigidity of the body and chassis mounts, this combination produces the handling attributes for which BMW M models are renowned, characterised by agility, precision and linear build-up of lateral forces when the driver demands it

The adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers and the active integral steering, which steers the rear wheels by up to 1.5 degrees, are included as standard. The M-specific tuning, individually selectable settings and the option of adjusting the dampers for each wheel independently optimize the body's connection to the road and maximize the car's performance, from everyday driving comfort to race-ready dynamic prowess. Turning the rear wheels as required improves directional stability at high speeds as well as agility and comfort when maneuvering.

Wide range of assistance systems for safe and comfortable driving...A much wider selection of standard and optional systems for automated driving and parking than that offered in the previous model takes safety and comfort in everyday driving to a new level. The standard equipment of the new BMW M5 Touring includes functions such as forward collision warning, lane departure warning with reverse assist, evasion assistant, attention assistant and speed limit information system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional adds active cruise control with stop & go function, together with technologies including steering and lane keeping assistant, traffic light detection, automatic speed limit assistant and active navigation.
