Genesis has launched the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program at the famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany, offering tours to visitors on one of the most complex and exciting race tracks in the world.
The program was officially launched on June 18th at an opening event at the Nürburgring, organized by Luc Donckerwolke, Creative Director at Genesis; Tyrone Johnson, Head of Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC); and Jacky Ickx, Genesis brand partner and racing icon.
Nürburgring is Germany's famous racetrack and one of the most legendary automobile circuits in the world. Over 20,832 kilometers long, with 73 curves, constantly changing road surfaces and 300 meters in altitude, the Nürburgring rightly covets the title of being one of the most technical tracks.
To ensure driving performance, durability and stability for the fast-paced ride on the Nordschleife, Genesis uses the G70 3.3T sports sedan model, known for its dynamic handling, innovative technology and an athletic, coupe-like design.
In collaboration with HMETC in Rüsselsheim, Germany, which serves as the center for the development of performance and durability for Genesis' European vehicles, the G70 has undergone suspension and shock absorber improvements. To ensure better brake cooling, additional brake ducts were also fitted, directing air from the front bumper to the front wheel arch. Thermal protections in the transmission oil cooling lines prevent the transmission from overheating in race track conditions.
Ensuring the best tires for the track, Genesis and Michelin have partnered to equip the vehicle, called the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife, with specialized Michelin Pilot Sport 4S sport levels, ensuring unrivaled performance in all weather conditions.
Completed in the striking orange exterior livery inspired by Genesis' Magma program, the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife makes a bold statement against the dense vegetation lining the Nürburgring track.
“The launch of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program sets an important milestone in our journey to deliver bold, high-performance cars, showcasing the power, drivability and performance the brand can offer,” said Donckerwolke. “This emphasizes the brand’s commitment to integrating the experiences gained into future vehicle development. The Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program will provide Genesis customers and enthusiasts with a tangible touchpoint to experience Genesis like never before.”
Anyone traveling through Germany and wanting to discover one of the most emblematic circuits in the world, the 'green hell', online reservations for the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife are now open to the public, with the schedule starting on July 6th.
