XIAOMI SU7 REVELA SEU ASPECTO DEFINITIVO

The popular Xiaomi SU7 broke down after traveling just 39 km, and the dealer doesn't know what the problem is

Xiaomi, a well-known manufacturer of mobile phones and electric scooters, decided to also invest in the automotive industry, having planned to design a range of electric vehicles, of which the SU7 is the first representative. It turns out that this foray into the world of four wheels is not going as smoothly and problem-free as its founder and CEO, Lei Jun, had hoped.

One of the first units delivered to Xiaomi SU7 customers, a saloon available on the Chinese market since March for a price €3,800 lower than the rival Tesla Model 3, left the stand and broke down after traveling just 39 km. If a breakdown in a new car is annoying but relatively understandable — if we take into account that it is the first car designed and built by a company specializing in mobile phones and scooters — the most serious thing was that, after the car had been transported to the dealership, the technicians admitted they had no idea what was going on or what the problem was.

Since its launch, the SU7 has been attracting customers at a good pace, with the local press suggesting that Xiaomi's car sells like hotcakes. Several buyers have already complained about minor faults, but the unit delivered to Wen decided to suddenly stop on the highway, when the odometer showed just 39 km. Through the central screen, the vehicle informed the driver that the car was going to stop and, after doing so, the transmission control stopped working, preventing Wen from selecting 'D' (drive) or 'R' (reverse).

According to Car News China, a trailer transported the SU7 from the side of the highway to the dealership, where technicians were unable to identify the problem, much less resolve it. However, the Xiaomi owner has another problem, as he does not want the same unit and the manufacturer is not in a position to deliver a new SU7 quickly, since the vehicles produced are all allocated to the respective buyers. However, after this (unfortunate) story, it is quite possible that free cars will begin to appear due to customer withdrawal, especially because Wen made a point of releasing a video about his adventure with Xiaomi.
