ABT Sportsline is one of the most successful motorsport teams in Europe. The team has already won several championships in the most important racing categories in Germany, such as the Super Touring Car Cup, the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters and the ADAC GT Masters.
To give you an idea of the importance of the brand, it currently has a team in Formula E, one of the main categories in the world, in which only electric vehicles race. All this history and knowledge led ABT to enter into a partnership with Audi and Volkswagen, for whom it takes care of the electrification of cars.
Now, imagine what could happen when a company like that decides to change ground, so to speak. The tracks and roads leave and the water enters. ABT has just launched a boat in partnership with the Austrian luxury company Marian.
The result is the ABT-Marian M 800-R, a fully electric, safe, beautiful, sophisticated and very, very fast model.
The purely electric boat delivers 603 hp of power and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 85 km/h.
The engine is powered by a 121 kWh lithium-ion battery.
This allows the M 800-R to have a range of up to 50 miles (80 km), or approximately 144 minutes in cruise mode.
Ah, but it's only a short time... For this reason, it comes equipped with 150 kW CCS fast charging, which recharges the battery in less than an hour.
On the outside, the boat is 7 meters long and has been finished in bright red and black Alcantara.
The steering wheel has different lighting and a special 12-inch multifunctional display.
A Bang & Olufsen sound system adds top-notch audio on the water.
ABT and Marian unveiled the M 800-R during the Formula E race in the principality of Monaco last month.
The idea now is to take the new model on a trip to the lakes around Austria and Germany in the coming weeks.
Marian will build just 20 examples at its shipyard in Austria.
As it is an almost exclusive product, the creators are charging a very high price: each boat costs €450,000.
