AK 550 Premium: more sport and more equipment
Since this April, KYMCO has once again marketed its impressive megascooter in our country, presented two seasons ago at the EICMA 2022 Milan Motor Show and with a new name. The new renovation of the KYMCO AK 550 Premium promises to be more powerful and technologically sophisticated inside, and with a new exterior appearance to reinforce its two aspects, both sports and tourism.

This second generation maintains its hallmark that makes it unique among the catalog of the Taiwanese firm. Its liquid-cooled 550 cc in-line twin-cylinder engine declares a maximum power of 50.3 HP at 7,500 rpm and torque of 52.3 Nm at 5,750 rpm. In addition, it has cruise control and two driving modes ('sport' and 'rain').

Although beyond its figures, its particularity is its configuration, since the engine and transmission are separated into two blocks, with a system of sealed chambers (one with hydraulic fluid and the other with compressed nitrogen at high pressure), which interact through a piston that moves between the two. With this integration of the engine in the chassis, greater rigidity and stability are sought.
A chassis that maintains its original design, with a double-beam frame made of aluminum alloy and boasts of being “ultralight”, with a total weight of 13.5 kg. And it allows you to accommodate a full-face helmet and several other things in the space of a seat, double height and with an adjustable backrest in three positions.
CURVING ABS...One of the main innovations of this KYMCO AK 550 Premium on the technical side is the incorporation of the 'AIBS Cornering' system signed by Bosh. An intelligent braking system typical of large, high-end sports motorcycles and that works in coordination with the traction control to ensure absolute control when cornering, and which can be deactivated.

In addition, it is equipped with double 270 mm brake discs on the front, with Brembo monoblock radial calipers and metal hoses. And another 260 mm rear disc, with built-in parking brake.
As for the suspensions, and to further enhance its 'racing' appearance, it retains the 41 mm inverted telescopic fork, along with a rear shock absorber located in a lateral position. Finally, the new KYMCO AK 550 Premium is fitted with Dunlop Sportmax GPR-100 tires, with 15” rims on both axles.

PREMIUM EQUIPMENT...We said that the new generation of the KYMCO megascooter showed off its new Premium name due to the level of equipment it includes as standard and an endless number of technological gadgets that make your life easier at the controls. The four most common functions are managed from the control panel, with quick access buttons for opening the fuel tank, opening the seat, trip information on the screen and steering lock.
It is equipped with an adjustable electronic screen both when stopped and in motion, heated grips with three temperature levels, a 'Keyless' proximity key, full LED lighting and a complete double TFT instrument panel with a double screen that, among other things, has a tire pressure sensor. tires.
In addition, the new KYMCO AK 550 Premium has full connectivity through your smartphone, with the integrated Noodoe navigation system and its exclusive app. Anti-theft system through real-time geolocation and SOS driver assistance in case of emergency.
