MANHART CRE 700: UM MERCEDES-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE COM 725 CV

Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance Manhart

The new Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance is a real change of direction in AMG's 55-year history. In terms of design, it differs from the Mercedes-Benz C Class due to its more muscular proportions, with a extensively modified AMG bodywork and a new plug-in hybrid engine that leaves behind the glorious years of the powerful V8. Or not, with this Manhart CRE 700.

The 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with 476 hp and 545 Nm of torque combines with a 204 hp permanent magnet synchronous electric motor located next to the rear axle, a 6.1 kW high-performance battery developed in Affalterbach and the system fully variable all-wheel drive AMG Performance 4MATIC.

The system's power of 680 hp and maximum torque of 1,020 Nm, combined with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission, enable impressive driving performance: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 3.4 seconds for the sedan and the estate. Propulsion only ends at 280 km/h electronically controlled.

Thanks to the addition of Manhart's MHtronic module to the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, the specialist was able to increase the combined output of the plug-in hybrid powertrain to 725 and 1,120 Nm of maximum torque.

However, we already know what the world of market experts and preparers is like and, above all, what their eccentric clients are like. For them, Manhart offers on this occasion a mechanical and bodywork package for the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E Performance. Named Manhart CRE 700, we can already have an idea of what it offers.

For what is normally offered by Manhart, this CRE 700 is quite discreet. It keeps the AMG exterior package and even the 20-inch wheels intact, adding only a blacked-out emblem on the grille, matching door handles, the CRE 700 badges and a set of stickers in gray and red. The interior also remains as standard.

On a technical level, we have a new set of H&R shock absorbers that bring it 20 mm closer to the ground compared to the original model. We will probably have a more complete package later on. What will not disappoint its buyers are the mechanical improvements, which are accompanied by a more throaty soundtrack through the exhaust outlets.

Regarding the exhaust, it equips a new system with sports pipes and 300-cell catalysts, available only outside the EU.
