Abarth, which today only offers a range focused on a single model, the 500, will very soon start offering the Abarth 600 as a complement to the current Abarth 500 (and the 595 and 695 derivations), which promised strong emotions extracting powers of up to 180 hp from the 1.4 four-cylinder turbo engine. The Abarth 600 will only be available as an electric model, taking on the name 600e and providing much greater power.
Based on the Fiat 600, the Abarth 600e will be launched in a special series suggestively called “Scorpionissima”, promising to be the most powerful “scorpion” ever. And this is important for a brand that was born 75 years ago and has always been dedicated to rallies and speed events since 1949.
The 600e Scorpionissima will be distinguished from other versions of the model by its color, called Hypnotic Purple by the manufacturer, and only 1,949 units of this special series will be produced, as a way of celebrating the brand's founding year.
Abarth claims to have used lessons gleaned from Formula E, but the reality is that the Abarth 600e mounts an electric motor on the front axle capable of delivering 240 hp, substantially more than what was usual for the brand, and even more so in a model that continues to be measured in dimensions, just 4.2 meters long. A mechanical limited-slip differential helps maximize handling efficiency and prevent loss of traction.
