Everyone probably remembers the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 ‘The Exorcist’, a model that Hennessey brought to the market to take on the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Well, the American specialist will soon remove it from its catalogue, as the sixth generation Camaro will soon say goodbye. Before that happens, here’s the Camaro ZL1 ‘The Exorcist’ Final Edition.
In honor of the Chevrolet Camaro's 57th anniversary, Hennessey will build 57 exclusive examples of this 1,000 hp monster. Each of them will feature a special ‘Final Edition’ graphic on the outside. In addition, they will have a plaque with the serial number ‘Final Edition X of 57’ in the engine compartment.
As with the rest of 'The Exorcist', the sticker with 'The Exorcist' is also missing, a larger spoiler to improve aerodynamic load at high speeds and 20-inch multi-spoke wheels finished in graphite and in this case equipped with Nitto drag tires. (the same as Demon).
Remembering that the Camaro ZL1 has a powerful 6.2-liter V8 LT4 engine supercharged by a compressor that is also present under the hood of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. However, thanks to the specialist, its power increased from 640 hp and 868 Nm of maximum torque to no less than 1,000 hp and 1,310 Nm of maximum torque.
All this thanks to a larger compressor, a new intercooler, a more aggressive valve timing and several touches on the ECU, intake and exhaust. Of course, there is no lack of an improved auxiliary fuel system either.
It is available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic transmission - it had to be reinforced, but in both cases its acceleration is wild, as it takes 2.1 seconds to reach 100 km/h and covers the quarter mile in less than 10 seconds.
