Jorge Martín wins an 'interruptus' GP in Japan and Marc Márquez returns to the podium

The Madrid driver achieved victory in a complicated day, under a curtain of water, which stopped the race with 12 laps to go. Martín remains 3 points behind the MotoGP lead and Marc Márquez returns to the podium of a grand prix 350 days later.

The Motegi sky held out until the MotoGP riders lined up on the grid. First it was a few drops that created uncertainty and opened the 'flag to flag' window, then the constant rain that forced all the riders to pass through the pit lane to change bikes with just one lap; and finally a waterspout that finally canceled the race.

Until that moment, Jorge Martín was the pilot who had best navigated the flooded Japanese asphalt until the red flag. Given the impossibility of restarting the race, more due to the lack of visibility than due to the water, and as 50% of the race distance had already been completed, the classification was taken from the last completed lap and all points were distributed.

In this way, the Madrid native cut another 5 points from Pecco Bagnaia, and is only 3 away from the lead. An historic comeback after adding 105 of the last 111 points at play.
