The new Škoda Kodiaq is official
Škoda Auto presents the second generation of its largest SUV, the Kodiaq, due to enter the market in 2024. The model will be available in 5- or 7-seat versions, with modern and efficient gasoline and diesel engines, and also, for the first time, as a plug-in and mild hybrid. In terms of safety, technology and versatility, the automaker takes its largest SUV to the next level.
Since its premiere on September 1, 2016, Škoda has produced more than 800,000 Kodiaqs at its factories in the Czech Republic, Ukraine, China, India and – until the beginning of 2022 – in Russia. The large SUV was the pioneer of the Czech car manufacturer’s successful SUV campaign. Optionally available as a seven-seater offering a spacious interior, the Kodiaq introduced Škoda’s fascinating crystalline design language to this segment. The large SUV has impressed buyers and journalists of international trade magazines – more than 40 international awards testify to its outstanding qualities and outstanding popularity on world markets.

Like its predecessor, the new model will be produced at the Kvasiny plant on the same production line as the Karoq, Superb and Superb iV. The new generation Superb model will start rolling off the assembly line in Bratislava in early 2024, which will free up capacity for around 150,000 additional units of the popular Kodiaq and Karoq SUVs annually.
Up to 410 second-generation Kodiaqs should roll off the assembly line every day.

With the second generation Kodiaq, Škoda further improved its globally successful large SUV. It now comes with a more distinctive design and even more space, especially for passengers in the third row of seats. In addition, the second generation Kodiaq is marked by a new interior concept that includes a touch screen up to 12.9 inches in size, manual and digital controls and a neat, well-organized center console.
The engine range includes two petrol and two diesel engines ranging from 110 kW (150 hp) to 150 kW (204 hp), as well as a plug-in hybrid version – a first for the Kodiaq. This offers an electric range of over 100 kilometers.

The safety equipment is again state-of-the-art, boasting, for example, fully LED matrix headlights of the second generation and even more advanced assistance systems. Also: new Simply Clever features, such as a rear storage compartment with cup holder and a dual Phone Box that provides cooling and simultaneous charging of two mobile phones.
Škoda has improved the powerful and emotional design of its Kodiaq SUV. With an increase in length of 61 millimeters and a further increase in the wheelbase, the second generation offers even more space for up to seven passengers and additional headroom in the optional third row of seats. On the outside, the sculptural front end, square wheel arches and second-generation all-LED Matrix headlights stand out. The completely redesigned interior is defined by a 12.9-inch central display, a neat, well-organized center console and a combination of manual and digital controls for intuitive operation.
The second generation Kodiaq comes with a completely redesigned interior. The new central touchscreen measures 12.9 inches. Moreover, customers can now order a head-up display in addition to the 10.25-inch virtual cockpit. The second generation Kodiaq features a smart combination of manual and digital controls. Making its Kodiaq debut is a center tunnel rear storage compartment with a cup holder for rear passengers. The second row of seats can be moved, and a flexible element in the trunk keeps things organized. In addition, the large SUV comes with familiar features such as door edge protectors and the iconic umbrella on the driver’s door.

The completely redesigned interior features a digital cockpit, a head-up display and a 12.9-inch stand-alone infotainment screen. The DSG gear lever has been moved to the steering column, now giving passengers more space, while the spacious center console offers more storage space. Improving the operation of the vehicle, the customizable Škoda Smart Dials enable simple control. Each rotary knob provides intuitive access to various vehicle functions, and the digital screen ensures a quick, comprehensive overview at any time. In a move towards greater sustainability, Škoda now uses upholstery made from 100% recycled polyester.

The quest for improved in-vehicle comfort is reflected in new additions, including the Phone Box with up to 15W fast inductive smartphone charging capabilities – and in the Kodiaq model, this is possible for up to two phones – paired with an active cooling function. In addition, passengers benefit from up to four USB-C ports with an output power of 45 W, as well as a convenient 15 W USB-C port on the rearview mirror. Not to be overlooked, the new Kodiaq is available with ergo seats along with a pneumatic massage function. Rear seat passengers will also appreciate the new storage compartment in the central tunnel. All heating functions for the seats, steering wheel, windscreen and rear window can be conveniently controlled via the heating buttons which can be configured in the climate control menu.
“Skoda interiors represent intuitiveness, simplicity, focus on the customer and smart solutions. Our latest innovation, Škoda Smart Dials, has expanded the intuitive options for controlling car functions, combining the best of both worlds: physical controls and digital displays. The fresh interiors of the Kodiaq and Superb now feature a large, free-standing screen, a steering column-mounted gear shifter and an uncluttered center console. These improvements have paved the way for a more spacious and comfortable interior that is not only eye-catching, but also offers practicality and genuine added value for our customers.”...Peter Olah, head of interior design at Škoda Auto

The sculptural front end, wheel arches and large wheels with a diameter of 17 to 20 inches emphasize the powerful appearance of the second generation Kodiaq. With a length of 4758 millimeters, the new Kodiaq exceeds its predecessor by 61 millimeters. In the seven-seat version, passengers in the third row of seats now have 15 millimeters more headroom, at 920 millimeters. Trunk capacity remains generous – 340 to 845 liters for seven-seaters and 910 liters for five-seaters.
More power, new technologies and greater sustainability...The second generation Kodiaq is characterized by an even more sophisticated design, the use of sustainable materials and innovative technologies such as the second generation of Full LED Matrix headlights. Its two petrol and two diesel engines range from 110 kW (150 hp) to 150 kW (204 hp). The 2.0 TDI with 142 kW (193 hp) and the 2.0 TSI with 150 kW (204 hp) come with all-wheel drive as standard.

The Kodiaq iV, the first plug-in hybrid in this model series, also offers a total power output of 150 kW (204 hp). In the Kodiaq iV, the 110 kW (150 hp) 1.5 TSI and the electric motor join forces to develop a system output of 150 kW (204 hp), which is delivered to the front wheels via a 6-speed DSG. The 25.7 kWh high-voltage battery provides an all-electric range of more than 100 kilometers.
