Tesla Cybertruck: No Tesla Model 3 Plaid, but a “super Cybertruck”

While the Tesla Cybertruck is struggling to reach our roads, Elon Musk is already half-heartedly announcing the arrival of a more “sporty” version.

While the first deliveries to customers should take place by next year, the Tesla Cybertruck could soon have the right to a special version focused on “sportiness”with more power and more torque.

The information comes directly from Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who told X “that he had seen this Performance version up close”. The whimsical director of the Californian firm even added that he had tried it for the first time and promises that it will be a “bomb”.

The Tesla Cybertruck comment is associated with the “Silicon Valley Tesla Owners” post on X (formerly Twitter) in which some members discuss a possible Tesla Model 3 Plaid.

Elon Musk completely refuted the arrival of such a variant, but then added a comment mentioning the Performance version of the Cybertruck indirectly confirming its existence.

Recently, several acceleration tests were recorded with a Cybertruck on the test track at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, and it is possible that the development team wanted to test the first prototype of the model in question.

What we know about the Cybertruck...For the moment, it is impossible to translate Elon Musk’s comments on the Cybertruck Performance into figures. We can only use as reference what has been published on the official website of Tesla concerning the “conventional” model, which announces a range of up to 800 kman acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h of 2.9 seconds and a towing capacity of 6.3 tonnes.

At this stage, it is possible that the Performance variant will further improve some of these values, particularly on the 0 to 100 km/h exercise. The Tesla Cybertruck is expected to enter production later this year at the Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, with deliveries expected early next year.
