With its stunning 2023 Sienna concept vehicle, aptly named “Sienna:RemixToyota turns a family minivan into an electrifying DJ booth on wheels. What is often the epitome of commuter utilitarian transportation is transformed into a symphony of 60 speakers, a high-definition video screen, and a kaleidoscope of LED lights—essentially, the perfect space for a DJ.

According to Joe Moses, Toyota’s general manager of Marketing and Communications, “We wanted to amplify the moments we all share with friends and family through music.” The philosophy behind this remix is ​​to transcend the usual limits of automotive functionality and enter the universal language of music. It’s not just a car anymore; It is a meeting place for parties.

From a design standpoint, the Toyota Sienna:Remix concept screams ‘innovation,’ but not in a way that detracts from Sienna’s native sporty and spacious aesthetic. On closer look, you’ll discover that the tailgate door has been replaced with swing-out doors and the roof panel in the center of the vehicle has been removed. The mods also include a 2-inch lift, heavier springs, and 22-inch wheels. Also highlighted is the extensive use of noise-dampening materials for a tone-perfect experience.

Inside, the vehicle is a cornucopia of acoustic wonders. The sound system features four 12-inch subwoofers, 36 midrange speakers, 14 tweeters and six percussion horns, all driven by 16 amplifiers delivering a thunderous 25,000 watts of power. Featuring a 12-channel digital sound processor and eight-channel mixer, the system is designed to connect to a variety of audio sources, both wired and wireless. And let’s not forget the dual digital turntables that provide an authentic DJ experience.

The Sienna:Remix doesn’t just settle for audio; it’s a complete sensory assault. LED lights with adjustable colors flash in time with the beats. But that’s not all: a 43-inch Wi-Fi-enabled HDTV in the rear adds the ability to stream content or even play mobile games. This is not just a vehicle; it’s an entertainment center on wheels.

The Toyota Sienna:Remix was built by auto shop Complete Customs based here in Texas and backed by SiriusXM. Complete Customs’ expertise in building exceptional all-terrain vehicles is reflected in every inch of this Sienna concept, adding a layer of localized glory to an already spectacular design.

One caveat: this is a special project and is not available for sale. There are legal issues and warranty considerations when modifying vehicles so drastically. As impressive as the concept may be, practical issues around road safety and legality make it more of an aspirational endeavor than a mass-market product.

The New Normal for the Toyota Sienna?...With the fourth generation Sienna already impressing with its bold styling and functional features, one wonders if elements of the Sienna:Remix could eventually find their way into future models.
