From October the deliveries of the renewed Tesla Model 3

Tesla has started trial production of the refreshed Model 3 at its factories in Shanghai (China) and Freemont (USA), with the first deliveries scheduled for October. The car will get updated LED lights, new bumpers, redesigned front fenders and a new hood.

The refreshed Model 3 is internally codenamed project Highland, with Tesla saying the interior will be even less complicated, carrying fewer components to reduce production costs, with the central infotainment screen improved.

The basic rear-wheel drive version will have a 66 kWh battery, 10% more than the current model (60 kWh). The battery will come from CATL and will be of M3P technology, which offers higher energy density than LMFP batteries and a longer life cycle.

Tesla’s goal is for the refreshed Model 3 to cost 14% less and in China for the rear-wheel drive version to start at 200,000 yuan (25,300 euros), when today the model has a starting price of 232,000 yuan (29,315 euros).
