Aleix Espargaró wins at Silverstone

"There are days when you notice that you feel invincible and today was one of them." This is how he explained how Aleix Espargaró(on the front bike) felt after getting his second MotoGP victory at Silverstone. Although in the head of the Aprilia rider there was not that fine rain that altered everyone's plans.

Before those first drops fell, Bagnaia was leading a race almost from the start, although Aleix was patient at his wheel, waiting for his moment. And from behind, another Aprilia, that of Maverick Viñales, joined the party.

The rain attracted new protagonists, such as Binder and Oliveira who saw their chance to win, but the one who performed best in these difficult conditions was Aleix, who on the last lap and in the iconic interlocks between Maggotts and Becketts, determinedly overtook the MotoGP champion and crossed the finish line in first position, pointing to the Aprilia logo on his suit. A true 'Capitano' for the Noale factory.

Despite losing the victory in the final stretch, Bezzecchi's fall and Martín's exit from the track in the first corner, mean that the Italian leaves Silverstone with his lead reinforced, with a 41-point margin over the Spaniard.

Another black Sunday was lived in Silverstone for the Repsol Honda bikes. And it is that both Joan Mir and Marc Márquez went to the ground when they were not in the forward positions. And the one from Cervera has not yet been able to finish a long race in 2023.
