McLAREN
Experience chase – McLaren 750S presentation TOP5
Replacing the most successful part of the range is never an easy task, so it is understandable that the designers have carefully considered how to approach the successor of the 720S. At McLaren, the decision was finally made to develop the basic structure further, but in such a way that practically the last screw is combed through to see how it could be made even more attractive and agile. This is how the 750S, available both as a coupe and as a convertible, was realized, whose main opponents include the Ferrari 296 GTB and the Lamborghini Huracán. Let’s see what makes the new McLaren interesting!

1. ENGINE POWER IS NEVER ENOUGH...The 750S uses the Woking brand’s most powerful internal combustion engine to date, the latest version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. In addition to increasing the filling pressure, the fuel pump has a larger delivery capacity, and even another one was installed from the latter, should an extra amount of fuel be needed. The result is a power increase of 20 horsepower, i.e. true to the name of the model, it puts 750 horsepower into battle! The gearbox of the rear-wheel-drive machine is still a seven-speed, double-clutch unit, with shorter gears. The novelty accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds!

2. SPEEDING ABOVE 330 KM/H...The 750S does not have an electronic top speed limiter, so the dashboard can show hellish values. Active aerodynamic elements help reach a top speed of 332 km/h. The surface area of the rear wing has been increased by 20%, and the air ducts on the nose of the car ensure that even at such a high speed the progress is stable and the car does not react nervously to steering movements.

3. EASY CAN BE EASIER...True to McLaren’s tradition, the novelty is built around a carbon monocoque passenger cell, but the designers did everything possible to cut precious kilos from the weight of the 720S. The 10-spoke forged aluminum rims given at the base price save 13.8 kg, the new digital instrument unit is 1.8 kg lighter, and the constructors saved 1.6 kg on the windshield. Those who find the weight of 1277 kg too much can gain an additional 17.5 kg by ordering the optional Super-Lightweight Carbon Fiber Racing Seats package. The fact that the stainless exhaust system is 2.2 kg lighter is just icing on the cake.

4. MANY LITTLE GOES A LOT...The front track is 6 mm wider, and the tuning of the new spring/damper unit is completely new. The front springs have been increased by 3%, the rear springs have been reduced by 4%, the electronically controlled damping has been reprogrammed, and according to McLaren, the front-rear hydraulic stabilizer works even more smoothly. At the same time, the steering reacts faster to turning, and the differences between the individual drive programs (Comfort, Sport, Track) are also more significant.
