M3 CSL Touring tuning Lightweight Performance

It gave a new meaning to the BMW M3 station wagon after it was treated by a tuning workshop in Germany, Lightweight Performance. As a result, a quasi-CSL version of the type was born, which is a real rarity for the Bavarian brand, especially if we are looking for factory copies. This is well exemplified by the M4 CSL, of which only 1,000 copies were produced by BMW, but as a limited series model, they can charge amazing amounts for it.

The transformations mainly left a noticeable mark: as part of the optical tuning, several parts were placed on the M3 Touring, which the tuning company previously used on other BMW models, such as the rear wing on the M4 GTS. And he copied the front end almost one-for-one from the M4 CSL, including the hood, the front air intakes and the radiator grilles – to use a fashionable, 21st-century term: kidneys. It was not revealed whether a donor car was needed for all of this, they only revealed that they had access to the “BMW shelf”.

Another visible change in the appearance of the M3 station wagon was that the front was lowered somewhat with Eibach springs, thus optimizing its sporty handling and posture. The new carbon fiber exhaust tips, downpipes and muffler are just icing on the cake – although it is likely that the latter was not among the planned modifications, rather compliance with European environmental protection standards was in the background.

The 3.0-liter, six-cylinder engine was not touched in particular, even so the 510 horsepower M3 became stronger by 10-15 horsepower, and its torque was increased by 10-15 Nm, which could mean 660-665 Nm in total. 

According to the tuning company, its resistance has decreased, its sound is sportier, and the air currents around the body have also been optimized. But at least a BMW was born that BMW is unlikely to produce, and at the same time it is perhaps more accessible to the common man than any factory specification.
