Bagnaia looks great in Assen
The current MotoGP champion goes into the summer break with a cushion of 35 points over Martín, after taking victory in Assen ahead of Bezzecchi. While the penalty for Binder for stepping on the green in the last lap gives Aleix Espargaró the podium.
The victory in the race on Sunday at the Assen circuit is one of those that tastes like championships. A year ago Pecco Bagnaia began a memorable comeback on this track that would win him the MotoGP title for the first time, and this weekend in the Netherlands was a blow to the championship table.
After being second in the sprint on Saturday and not being able to beat an impeccable Marco Bezzecchi, on Sunday the tables turned and the unattainable rider was the Turin, whose victory allowed him to go into the summer break with a 35-point margin over Jorge Martín and 36 over Bezzecchi.
A race that since morning was conditioned by the withdrawal of Marc Márquez, due to unusual heat on the track, which made it very difficult. Only 14 drivers finished the race. And a complicated layout, full of sensors that warn you that you are going too far, and that in this case benefited Aleix Espargaró, who achieved the first podium of the year in the offices. After Binder lost a position for exceeding the track limits on the last lap.
