Racing Maserati GT2

Maserati has officially presented the new GT2 model, and it is actually a racing version of the already well-known MC20.

Maserati is thus ready to rekindle the memories that emerged in the thrilling GT championships, with a new car designed to evoke the exploits of its forerunner, the famous and victorious MC12.

Maserati’s history in motorsport is a story of almost a century of success, of a unique and recognizable DNA and of a passion that is rekindled by the brand’s connection with a powerful heritage from the past and its aspiration towards a future in which racing is an essential component.

The Maserati GT2 is the epitome of speed, elegance, style and innovation. A car designed to be a performance masterpiece: extraordinary, created to celebrate Maserati’s return to the track. Conceived and designed by Maserati engineers in tandem with Centro Stile Maserati, to ensure the aesthetic quality standards typical of the brand, the Maserati GT2 inherits the outstanding 463 kW/630PS Nettuno V6 engine from the Maserati MC20, taking it to the next level.

There’s also a 6-speed sequential gearbox, a new exhaust system, a racing-spec LSD differential and 18-inch wheels.

The most attractive technical specifications include the all-new patented MTC (Maserati Twin Combustion) technology based on F1 engines, an ultra-light carbon fiber central monocoque – an excellent solution for a good weight-to-power ratio – and a lightweight composite body, where aerodynamic characteristics are exploited to the limit to improve the vertical load, but at the same time ensuring the best efficiency in terms of air resistance.

A lot of attention has been paid to developing a proper aerodynamic load balance, while the chassis has high torsional stiffness.

The power steering is fully electric. All of the car’s suspension components are race-specific – there will be adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars both front and rear.

A carbon fiber dashboard and a 10-inch screen integrated into the dashboard result in a futuristic, intuitive cabin, complete with a body paint option and livery specific to the Maserati Corse (Blu Infinito).

A gem of mechanics and engineering, a pioneer of innovative technical solutions, with futuristic, minimalist and sculptural interiors that refer to extreme body lines, the Maserati GT2 is dedicated to racing teams and gentleman drivers who will participate in the GT2 championship.

The single-seater is the result of a winning synergy between the men and women of Maserati and the avant-garde design and style that has always distinguished the Italian brand’s creations, complemented by its unmistakable air of luxury, even when the road becomes a track. The fierce GT2 is therefore preparing to explore new horizons, to consolidate and define Maserati’s racing future in the world of motorsport.
