A110 Pikes Peak Racer

Alpine today unveiled the A110 Pikes Peak Racer that will run in this year’s Pikes Peak Ascent, with the event scheduled for Sunday, June 25. The French company collaborated with the engineers and technicians of the Signatech racing team, to prepare the race track.

Thanks to a close and fruitful collaboration between the teams of the Alpine design office – led by Raphaël Linari (design director) – and those of Signatech – led by Lionel Chevalier (technical director) and François Letort (project manager) – the car has been transformed into a formidable racing machine.

More specifically, the most extreme A110 to date has undergone extensive upgrades to meet the challenges of the iconic climb and will feature impressive aerodynamic components to keep it glued to the ground. Among the most impressive features are the sharply defined splitters and spoilers at the ends of the spoiler, not to mention the imposing rear spoiler, for the necessary downforce.

The work done on the Alpine A110R also shows through the side skirts and diffuser, while the air intake in the roof also contributes to the increased output of the engine, which now reaches almost 500 hp. In addition, everything unnecessary has been removed to reduce the weight of the car to just 950 kg.

Alpine will participate in the Time Attack 1 class. As such, the A110 GT4 Evo will remain two-wheeled and will be up against several prototypes with different philosophies, such as those included in the Unlimited class.

Let me remind you that the climb is 19.93 kilometers long and has 156 turns, starting from an altitude of 2,865 meters and ending approximately 1,440 meters higher.
