MASERATI
Maserati has been building V8-powered cars since 1959, with its first V8-powered model being the 5000GT, with the Italian company announcing that later this year it will stop fitting the 572’s twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8. horsepower in its models and this because the long-term agreement with Ferrari will expire this year.
That’s why Maserati, at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, will present the Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima special editions, which will be its last V8-powered models based on the Trofeo versions.
Maserati has built more than 100,000 cars with a V8 engine over the past 64 years, and from now on it will replace it with the 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo Nettuno engine.
The Italian company will offer all models as purely electric by 2025, while it has set itself the goal of becoming a purely electric brand by 2030.
