LAFFITE AUTOMOBILI
Laffite Automobili LM1, Barchetta and Atrax
The new Italian company Laffite Automobili was founded by Pascal Cohen and Bruno Laffite (nephew of former F1 driver Jacques Laffite), and its three vehicles bear the design signature of the GFG Style company founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio.
Three all-electric models were presented, namely the LM1 race car, which can also be driven on the road, the Barchetta supercar and the Atrax, a robust off-road crossover coupé.
“Our main goal was to create a brand that brings together the great motorsport family,” said Cohen. “We are currently the only ones to offer these three types of cars, two of which are positioned in two completely innovative segments, the LM1 and the Atrax. We wanted to meet the very different expectations of our collectors.”
The cars will be offered in limited series, as the company plans to sell between 24 and 26 examples of each model.
The Atrax(image above) comes with a starting price of $1.69 million, butterfly doors, a carbon fiber monocoque, a 2+1 seating arrangement, and an F1-style steering wheel. This model will be offered in a standard aggressive configuration or a Stradale road version.
Laffite Automobili states that the Atrax has 858 kW/1167 hp and 2500 Nm of torque, so this 2200 kg vehicle accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and can reach 240 km/h.Range on one charge is 400 km, and thanks to 350 kW fast charging, the crossover can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes.
Then comes the LM1(image below), which has 1,167 hp and 1,600 Nm of torque, weighs 1,650 kg and reaches 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds.
With a range of 410km, the LM1 also features a sound system that replicates the sonic experience of some of the legendary racing cars of yesteryear.
There is also the Barchetta(image below), whose electric motors have 430 kW/586 hp and 990 Nm of torque, acceleration to 100 km/h is 3.5 seconds and range of 390 km per charge.
Here we also have a double bubble cockpit (or glass roof for the Coupe version), as well as a “halo” that offers rollover protection.
Deliveries of the first vehicles (Atrax) are scheduled to start in March next year.
