New KTM 450 SMR 2024 receives visual improvements

KTM has unveiled the latest edition of its acclaimed supermoto model, the 450 SMR. Retaining its exceptional performance capabilities, the 2024 version stands out with an attractive updated graphics kit.

In line with the strategic direction of Pierer Mobility Group's Powersport lineup for the year ahead, the focus of the new KTM 450 SMR is primarily on visual improvements, while technical changes remain limited.

This approach is in line with recent releases by KTM and Husqvarna, which saw their 2024 motocross ranges receive similar treatment, alongside the launch of the Husqvarna FS 450 supermoto model for the following year.

The KTM 450 SMR features a stunning new color scheme with a combination of orange, black, white and purple. This striking design aims to pay homage to KTM's rich heritage, while representing the brand's commitment to innovation and modernity.

Beneath the stunning visuals, the bike benefits from a number of technical upgrades to improve its performance.

The 450cc SOHC engine, while retaining its 27 kilogram mass, has been repositioned in the frame for better mass centralization. This configuration results in better balance and maneuverability.

With a peak output of 63 hp, the engine remains powerful, offering riders thrilling performance over a variety of terrains. Furthermore, the engine is equipped with two presets, allowing drivers to adjust its characteristics according to their preferences and driving conditions.

The brake system of the KTM 450 SMR is supplied by Brembo, known for its high quality components. The bike features four-piston calipers that grip 310mm and 220mm front and rear discs, delivering reliable and precise stopping power.

In addition, the new two-wheeler is equipped with a premium XACT fork and WP shock absorber.

To provide exceptional grip and control, the KTM 450 SMR is fitted with Metzeler SM K1 supermoto tires. The 16.5-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels provide optimal traction and agility, allowing drivers to handle cornering and different driving conditions with confidence.
