Hyundai i20 renewed...Hyundai Motor unveiled the new i20, which will hit the roads with a modern and updated design. The car's safety package and best-in-class connectivity are among the most comprehensive packages in their class.
The new Hyundai i20 features a sleek and stylish exterior that turns heads on the road. The shape and pattern of the front bumper, as well as the radiator grille, have been improved to create an elegant look with sporty elements. The rear has a redesigned bumper and a unique light design. Newly designed 16- and 17-inch wheels were also added.
The design of the new Hyundai i20 was praised for its emotional and dynamic style that harmonizes proportions, architecture, style and technology in both the exterior and interior. The model retains its sporty stance thanks to the low roof profile and long wheelbase. These features improve the vehicle's aerodynamics by reducing air resistance, which also improves handling and increases efficiency. A dynamic light signature highlights its bold overall appearance, highlighted by Z-shaped LED taillights. Even with its compact B-segment dimensions, the new i20 offers buyers plenty of interior space, with 352 liters of boot space and 1,165 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The car is available in eight exterior colors and with an optional black roof. Three exterior colors are all-new: Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Gray Pearl and Meta Blue Pearl. There is also Atlas White, Phantom Black Pearl, Aurora Gray Pearl, Dragon Red Pearl and Mangrove Green Pearl.
The new Lucid Lime interior color pack will liven up and brighten passengers' moods. Equipped with this package, the seats also feature a sporty new pattern with a bold vertical line and embossed horizontal dotted lines. The lime-colored stitching that decorates the various touch points in the interior emphasizes the model's sporty character.
The new Hyundai i20 comes with the latest connectivity features that make the in-car experience even more convenient for passengers. The model is updated with a standard 4.2-inch LCD cluster, USB Type-C, 2nd generation eCall based on 4G network and Over-the-Air (OTA) map updates. It continues to offer features that were already popular in the previous version, such as the optional 10.25-inch dash and 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless device charger, and the latest telematics upgrade. Bluelink.
More Hyundai Smart Sense safety features now come as standard. Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) for 'City', 'Intercity' and 'Pedestrian' now includes 'Ciclist'. The FCA helps to detect and avoid possible accidents with obstacles ahead. Lane Follow Assist (LFA) ensures the vehicle stays in lane.
For added peace of mind, optional security systems are also available. Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) uses visual warnings that appear in the outside mirrors if another vehicle is detected. When necessary, BCA is activated to avoid a collision or reduce the impact of a collision. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) uses the vehicle's navigation system and adjusts speed for safer driving.
The new i20 will appeal to customers looking for a sleek, sporty design. The revamped model has replaced the lamps with LED technology for better lighting inside the car and now features multicolored ambient lights, so passengers can adjust the color of the interior lighting to suit their mood. The car comes with a BOSE Premium audio system.
The 1.0 T-GDi engine – available with 100hp or 120hp – is designed for maximum efficiency and performance and is available with either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT) or a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT), providing a smooth transmission and responsive drive.
Production of the new i20 is scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2023 at Hyundai's plant in Izmit, Turkey. Other variants follow.
