New R18 Roctane: classic bodywork but with a lot of technology and the legendary 1,802 cc boxer engine

BMW has announced the launch of the latest member of its Heritage R 18 family. It is the R 18 Roctane.

The Roctane features a rigid case, integrated turn signals, a dark engine, chrome exhaust and 21/18-inch wheels.

The bike's design is inspired by the BMW boxers of yesteryear, with a big boxer engine as the bike's focal point.

Metal body panels cover the bike's exterior, and the standard color is Black Storm Metallic. However, BMW also offers other options: Matte Mineral Gray Metallic and Matte Manhattan Metallic.

With 27 liter bags on each side, the R 18 Roctane is ideal for long distance journeys.

Similar to the base model, the R 18 Roctane is powered by an 1,802cc boxer engine, available with 91 hp and 157 Nm of peak torque.

Despite the classic bodywork, the motorcycle is equipped with modern electronics, including automatic stability control, dynamic brake control, cruise control, torque control assist, dynamic engine brake control and various riding modes. Adaptive headlights, Hill Start Control and Lane Departure Assist are available as optional extras.

The integrated dashboard is inspired by the 1936 BMW R 5 models and displays all relevant information expected from a modern motorcycle. The matte paintwork contrasts with the glossy black chassis, adding sophistication to the overall look.
