YANGWANG U9: O MAIS RECENTE MODELO DA BYD TEM QUATRO MOTORES E UM ASPECTO RADICAL

YangWang U9: the Chinese extreme sports car

Last January, the Chinese giant BYD presented the YangWang U9 for the first time digitally. On the same occasion, BYD announced that the official presentation of the new electric super sports car would take place at the 2023 Shanghai Motor Show, which will be celebrated from next April 18th, and it will be. Until then and in the meantime, we can already see the production version and what appears to be a track version.

For now the known details are limited, but soon we will clarify doubts. Everything indicates that the Chinese brand will reveal not only the new technical specifications of the YangWang U9, but also its price and launch date in its home market, China. It does not seem that the model will be marketed outside the borders of the Asian giant.

In these latest official images, the YangWang U9 is sporting an eye-catching competition outfit. It features a silver tone finish, mixed with light blue and purple tones. As we can see, the aerodynamics have been revised with more outstanding elements. The front view highlights the redesigned splitter and new LED graphics for the controversial headlamps.

At the rear, it adds a huge GT3-style spoiler that we don't see on the street model. This is connected to the central fin and the ventilated rear window. Finishing off the set are the full-width taillights with new LED graphics and the reflectors, relocated in the aggressive diffuser. As for the production model, some details also change.

But the best thing about BYD's YangWang U9 is in its guts. There rests the ‘Yisifang’ system, which comprises quad electric motors. The power figure is 1,100 hp and 1,280 Nm of maximum torque. Thanks to this, it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds and claims a range of 700 kilometers on a single charge.

It's not lacking in sophisticated torque vectoring capabilities and an advanced suspension system. Dubbed 'Disus-X', it combines intelligent damping body control system (Disus-C), intelligent hydraulic body control system (Disus-P) and intelligent air body control system (Disus- A) from the car manufacturer.
