Brand confirms that in 2026 the SUV that will replace the Stelvio will be presented
Alfa Romeo has confirmed that in 2026 the SUV will be presented that will replace the Stelvio (projection above Autocar). It will be fully electric and will precede an E-segment sedan, also running on batteries.
The one that will be the electric replacement for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio will more than likely have a 100 kWh battery, which should give it a range of over 700 kilometers. With this E-segment SUV, the Italian brand will seek to take a step further towards becoming a premium manufacturer, an objective advanced a few months ago by the brand's top manager, Jean-Philippe Imparato: "I haven't told anyone before, but we want to be the Stellantis global premium brand, and for the whole world to know our brand, I want to bring a top-of-the-line SUV to the market. How exactly we are going to shape it is another matter,” Imparato told British Autocar.
The new Italian SUV will be designed to rival models such as the BMW X5, Audi Q7 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Currently, Alfa Romeo's portfolio in relation to SUVs is formed by the aforementioned Stelvio and Tonale.
A year after the launch of the SUV, a new electric sedan will arrive, also from the E segment, which will start from the same platform as the crossover. This is the STLA Large, which was designed for the largest models of all Stellantis brands.
Both models will also share their engine offer, whose powers will be between approximately 350 and 800 hp. In addition, Alfa Romeo has already confirmed that it will continue the Quadrifoglio versions despite the definitive arrival of the electric car. In this sense, it can already be confirmed that the future battery-powered Giulia QV will reach 1,000 hp of power, a figure much higher than the 510 hp of the current model.
