The brand also made it clear that the resurgence of these identifications does not seek to bring models with signs of nostalgia or retro aspects. Classic denominations will be used for totally new interpretations and that, according to Ford, is what makes them so interesting.

The Explorer, for example, is a completely different proposition from its larger US market namesake, but according to Ford, it was designed with the same focus on active customers and functionality. Although it is a Volkswagen ID.4 in essence, the brand has changed some interior elements and many exteriors so that they are not the 'same car'.

The folks at Ford haven't provided any clues as to which other Ford names are ripe for revival, but it looks like there are some aces up their sleeves.
