O primeiro ônibus escolar elétrico da Ford é revelado

Automotive manufacturer announced its first electrified school bus based on the E-Transit van

Ford has unveiled its first all-electric school bus based on the E-Transit van. Announced at Work Truck Week 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the zero-emissions bus could become nearly free for many school districts through state support.

The E-Transit has been a very successful model for Ford. As of 2022, the company has captured nearly three-quarters of the entire electric van market, offering many different configurations designed for all types of businesses.

Wanda Young, Ford Pro's director of global marketing and experience, said the addition of a school bus could help reduce emissions across the country and increase Ford's market share.

School districts have been known to get up to $375,000 to replace their old diesel buses with fully electric buses. In addition, the Inflation Reduction Act allows for another $20,000 for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Ford has yet to release pricing or other details.
