DACIA

The future C-segment Dacia model based on the Bigster will be produced in Romania

The future C-segment SUV derived from the Bigster concept will be produced at the Mioveni plant and will make its commercial debut in the first part of 2025. The Dacia factory is also preparing its assembly lines for the third generation of the Duster model.

The Renaulution strategic plan presented in January 2021 is starting to produce effects and confirms Dacia’s intention to expand its range of models and assert its presence in the European C segment. In order to put this objective into practice, it was decided that the future model based on the Bigster concept will be produced at the Mioveni plant.

The new Duster and the SUV based on the Bigster concept will use the CMF-B platform...Both the new generation Dacia Duster and the new SUV based on the Bigster concept are developed on Renault Group’s CMF-B platform. This flexible platform is an important element in the industrial strategy of the Dacia brand, ensuring the development of a wide range of vehicles, with lengths from 4.1 meters to 4.6 meters. On this platform, vehicles with different body types can be produced: sedans, hatches and SUVs from segments B and C, with 4×2 or 4×4 traction, and equipped with thermal or hybrid engines, in accordance with the evolution of regulations in the field. Thanks to the CMF-B platform, Dacia has the necessary agility to develop its new product plan.

The CMF-B platform is currently used for the Renault Captur and Renault Clio, and Mitsubishi will use it to develop the new ASX and Colt models.

The new Dacia SUV based on the Bigster concept will be launched in 2025. Just a year earlier, in 2024, the third generation of the Duster model will appear on the assembly line of the Mioveni plant.

On the other hand, to support the offensive in the C segment, starting from the second quarter of 2024, the Jogger model, including the Jogger HYBRID 140 version, will also be produced in the factory in Tangier (Morocco).

“Dacia has entered a new phase of its evolution and is preparing to tackle the C segment, relying on the same assets that have contributed to the brand’s current success: the concern to meet the expectations of customers, offering them what is essential, at the better performance/price ratio” commented the general manager Dacia cars Mihai Bordeanu.
