Heat Belt: the heated seat belt developed by the German automotive giant

The company ZF recently unveiled a novelty for electric cars: the heated seat belt, called Heat Belt. This is a seat belt that heats up, providing passengers with an additional source of heat during winter or cold weather.

The Heat Belt is powered by the electric car's battery and can be controlled via the vehicle's infotainment system. Passengers can adjust the temperature of the heated seat belt via a touchscreen corresponding to Upper Gear so they can find a comfortable temperature.

Such an innovation is an important step forward in terms of passenger comfort in electric cars. Normally, heating in electric cars is done through the vehicle's heating system, which can consume a considerable amount of energy. The Heat Belt provides an alternative heat source that can be used to warm passengers without significantly affecting the vehicle's range.

ZF specialists I claim that the belts we are talking about now contain several conductors, but the thickness of the fabric was almost unaffected. In addition, the belts work similarly to the classic ones, their assembly is also similar. Heated seat belts require about 70 kW and can heat up to a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

Ford, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have discussed this technology before...Additionally, the Heat Belt can be used to warm passengers in the rear areas of the car where the vehicle's heating system may be less effective. This can make the journey more comfortable for all passengers, regardless of their position in the vehicle.

However, we must say that this is not the first time that such technology has been mentioned, as there have been other names in the automotive industry in the past that have brought this type of heated seat belt. For example, such ideas have been put forward in the past by both Ford and BMW or Mercedes-Benz.
