Macík wins again in trucks at Dakar in special interrupted by rain

Czech Martin Macík won the third special stage of the 2023 Dakar Rally in trucks played this Tuesday. The stage was shortened due to weather conditions that prevented the helicopter from flying over the final stretch

Martin Macík, from MM Technology, won the third special stage of the 2023 Dakar Rally held this Tuesday (3) with a time of 4h3min3s. The stage ended ahead of schedule due to bad weather in Saudi Arabia, which prevented the helicopter from flying over the final stretch and ensured the safety of the pilots. Thus, only 377 of the 447 kilometers were completed.

Macík finished just over four minutes ahead of compatriot Jaroslav Valtr, from Tatra Buggyra. Dutchman Mitchell van den Brink, from Team de Rooy, completed the podium with a time of 4h7min11s.

Category leader, also Czech Ales Loprais, who won the second special, closed in fourth position and maintained the overall leadership. Martin van den Brink completed the top five ahead of Martin Soltys, Janus van Kasteren and Igor Bouwens.
