CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R 2024: A VERSÃO DE COMPETIÇÃO JÁ É UMA REALIDADE

CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R 2024: Competition Edition

2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette, a name that is, according to the American brand, one of the names that have been on the market for the longest time. To celebrate this achievement, the company will launch this year two of its most anticipated versions: the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray and the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

After presenting the mid-engined C8, a Z06 capable of rivaling super sports cars and its first hybrid Corvette, now the brand reveals what will be the competition version of the line. The race car will make its debut at next year's Rolex 24 race at Daytona. Your goal, make things difficult for your rivals during the 2024 season.

Designed to meet FIA GT3 technical regulations, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R breaks new ground for Chevrolet and the Corvette Racing program. The model leverages experience from Corvette Racing's long and successful history, as well as experience from the production Corvette production, engineering and powertrain design teams.

Like its predecessor, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R is powered by the 5.5 liter DOHC flat V8 engine. As with the standard Corvette Z06, the engine is manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky. What's more, this competition model block shares 70% of its components with the road sport. So do many of the chassis components.

Building on the base of the Z06's aluminum chassis, the GT3.R adds a steel safety cage. Added to it are springs, shock absorbers, brake discs, calipers and competition pads. The model has 18-inch wheels shod with tires for the track and adds an aggressive aerodynamic package to its aesthetics.

Chevrolet ensures that the 2024 Corvette Z06 GT3.R has been being tested virtually since 2021. Now it's time to carry out tests on the track so that next year, try to keep the legacy of Corvette Racing alive. In 25 years of IMSA racing, the team has won 113 races, as well as 14 manufacturers' and drivers' championships, and 15 team titles.
