Ferrari F40 Liberty Walk: will be the attraction at the next Tokyo Auto Salon of tuning
Given the car's exclusivity, it's hard to imagine anyone fitting an exterior kit to a Ferrari F40. However, the Japanese specialist Liberty Walk will debut this preparation next January 13th at the Tokyo Auto Salon of tuning.
The pack includes a new hood with central opening, fixed and non-removable headlights like those of the series vehicle, side skirts, splitter, airfoil and diffuser, among other components.
The already large airfoil of the F40 gains an additional module in its upper part and the Liberty Walk diffuser flanks the original exhaust outlet, in an oval shape. The Japanese specialist already has this kit for sale on its website, but does not inform the price.
It's not clear if the car at the Tokyo Auto Salon will get any further touches to the interior or powertrain. It is worth remembering that the production F40 has a 2.9 V6 biturbo engine with 478 hp and 425 Nm of maximum torque, coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.
As we can see in the images and video, the height of the body has been lowered as much as possible, to the point that the tires completely cover the wheel arches and the car almost touches the ground.
The F40 debuted in 1987 to commemorate 40 years of Ferrari history and was the last model with significant contributions from Enzo Ferrari before the car magnate's death in August 1988.
Thanks to its mechanical power, it takes just 3.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of over 310 km/h. Two superlative records at the end of the 80s of the last century.
The Liberty Walk video heralds more surprises for the Tokyo Auto Salon, like a Mazda with a rotary engine, a modified Lexus LX 600, a Lamborghini Murciélago, and a secret Nissan. The event will be held over the weekend on January 13, 14 and 15, 2023.
