Cupra Formentor BSR...SEAT's move with CUPRA couldn't have turned out better, at least from the point of view of the new sports brand. Models such as the Formentor and Born were well accepted and the Spanish manufacturer's range will expand significantly in the coming years.
On this occasion, we are going to talk precisely about the compact SUV from the coupe line, the company's true bestseller, with a share of more than 70% of the total sales volume of CUPRA in 2021. And the designers are already keeping an eye on it.
The latest tuning version comes from the Czech specialist BSR. Together with JMS-Fahrzeugteile and Barracuda Racing Wheels, it has prepared this crossover in a very visible way, as we can see in the images.
What stands out the most is the JE Design widebody. In addition to the wheel arches, the kit also includes a rear spoiler, placed above the rear window. In addition, the full laminate is intended to create a brushed aluminum look.
Of course, a prepared vehicle must wear larger tires and larger diameter wheels. In this case, the Formentor incorporates Continental SportContact7 tires measuring 275/30 and light alloy wheels with 20 plugs from the specialist Barracuda, which weigh just 11.9 kilos each and are finished in the Higloss Bronze color.
Eibach sports springs lower the free height of the Spanish crossover by 35 millimeters. BSR, which idealized this project, provides a performance improvement and a sports exhaust system.
The Czech specialist offers three power figures for the Formentor with the 2.0 TSI engine. The 245 hp version can reach 320 hp and 462 Nm. For the 310 hp version, Phase 1 offers 381 hp and 502 Nm of torque, while Phase 1 raises the numbers to 403 hp and 527 Nm.
