POLESTAR/CAKE
Two Swedish companies, electric vehicle maker Polestar and electric motorcycle and moped maker Cake, have announced an expanded collaboration to launch a new version of the Makka Polestar Edition electric moped designed for use in urban environments.
This is the second electric moped model to be released through the collaboration between Polestar and Cake. It will launch in a limited edition sky blue, similar to the Polestar O2 roadster concept unveiled earlier this year. The first Makka Polestar Edition was finished in Snow Matte white.
Makka is Cake's electric motorcycle exclusively for urban use. The maximum speed is only 45 km/h, which makes it possible to use it in many countries even without a motorcycle license.
The Makka Polestar Edition is designed to be transported in a Polestar electric vehicle and can even be charged with its battery. The new Cake Makka Polestar Edition features a slim headlight, Öhlins suspension and a removable rear rack.
An engine with a nominal power of 1.55 kW and peak power of up to 2.8 kW will provide a maximum speed of up to 45 km/h. The battery with a capacity of 31 Ah provides a range of 55 km, which is quite suitable for urban conditions.
The sale and delivery of new items will be done by CAKE, but through the Polestar Additional online store. The price of the new model is US$ 5,300, higher than the price of the first Makka Polestar Edition, offered in 2021 for US$ 3,800.
